Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 15, 2026
At Sonux we take your privacy very seriously. This policy explains what data we process and how.
1. 100% local transcription
The audio of your dictations is processed entirely on your device (Apple Neural Engine). Your voice is never sent to our servers or to third parties. We don't store recordings.
2. AI post-formatting
If you enable post-formatting, only the already-transcribed text is sent to the configured AI provider to clean it up and format it. No audio is sent. On the subscription plan this request goes through our managed service; on the lifetime license, you use your own key and the text goes directly to your provider.
3. Account and payments
To manage your license we use Supabase (authentication) and Paddle (payments). We process your email address and your subscription status. Payment data is handled by Paddle as Merchant of Record; we don't store card numbers.
4. Optional sync
Cloud sync is off by default. If you enable it, your notes, history and meetings (text only, never audio) are stored in your account, encrypted in transit and at rest, accessible only by you.
5. API keys
Your AI keys are stored encrypted in your device's macOS Keychain. They are never stored in plain-text files or on our servers.
6. Your rights
You can access, rectify or delete your data at any time. To exercise these rights or delete your account, write to hola@sonux.app.
7. Changes
We may update this policy. We'll post any changes on this page with the update date.
